Ways of a Light Seeker: Setting the tone for your day

Each of us are reaching for Enlightenment, whether we are conscious of it or not. It is a quality and promise of the Law of Evolution which is ever unfolding. And it is open to everyone and has no requirement other than to relax body, mind, emotions and surrender to Truth, Joy and Peace.

But there are obstacles that the human mind sets in place: 1) ignorance and fallacious beliefs, 2) pride and valuing something else because of the payoffs, and 3) impatience.

For those of us on our spiritual journey who are conscious and aware …. our behaviors have shades of meaning. We view life as opportunities for spiritual growth and choices that concur with our spiritual awareness.

There is a connection between how we start our day and what kind of life we have. The attitude you wakeup with and your morning habits bleed into your day. Like me, you may be very aware and have experienced it yourself!

PRACTICES

Here are some morning practices that can help us start our day identifying with Spirit and our inner Joy and Happiness …. setting the tone for the day.

1. Upon waking do an attitude check and become conscious of gratitude for Life, Intelligence, Truth and Love ….. and gratitude for all the opportunities that have come and are to come.

I do this before even opening my eyes! An attitude of Gratitude brightens my day and I know that there is much to look forward to. Even challenges we are to face are opportunities for growth!

2. Make the Mental Contact with Universal Life Energy. You can also place yourself in the Star Exercise position in the bed and make the Mental Contact.

3. While still in the Star Position make these Declarations of Truth from the spark of Unconditional Love in your Heart as shared by The Teacher, Svetozar:

“Father, Thou art inspiring me on the Spiritual Plane.

Thou art guiding me on the mental plane.

Thou art sustaining and protecting me on the material plane.

I am Thy individualized projection into Thy own Eternal substance.

Indissolubly connected with Thee, manifesting all Thy qualities and Powers.”

Thank You.

4. After rising, avoid phones and mass media. Meditate with deep Breathing, Relaxation and Silence for as much time as you allow. This can bridge the human mind to Truth and open the door to Unconditional Love.

5. Read some inspiring works or write in your spiritual journal. Set sincere purposes for being considerate, honest, fearless, friendly, kind and loving.

6. Go outside and walk barefoot upon Mother Earth in the sun as appropriate. Do some deep breathing and observe Nature in the moment.

Attitudes that support spiritual awareness!

There are simple choices that supports our spiritual process, and not just about making our life more pleasant and enjoyable, but also …… of moving out of the compulsive ego that imprisons us in limiting and unhappy fallout.

A choice of one uplifting attitude invites an entire field of uplifting attitudes and raises our consciousness.

It’s helpful to realize that the ego is extremely needy and gets energy from negative personality attitudes of predatory self-indulgence ….. like indignation over rights and entitlements, expecting no consequences.

The ego refuses to accept responsibility and usually sees a request for self-responsibility as oppressive! The subconscious ego can distort reality in order to be seen as a victim ….. and our individual level of power diminishes, as does our level of consciousness. It retards our spiritual progress and makes life challenging.

Yet, we can begin to transform our experience of Life, and indeed the world, by making simple decisions.

Kindly consider consciously choosing to Be even one of these attitudes and observe the effect:

  • Calm
  • Genuine
  • Warm with a sense of Humor
  • Friendly
  • Honest
  • Pleasant
  • Considerate
  • Helpful
  • Kind
  • Respectful
    • Respectable
  • Supportive
  • Dependable
  • Ethical
  • Loyal
    • Responsible

Our choices determine consequences and shapes our reality. Being conscious of our freedom of individual choices can be very uplifting and freeing.

With FourSquare choices and uplifting attitudes we form a positive armor and eliminate the pain of mistakes.

Add to that realization …..

That we need not do it alone …… that the Eternal is always helping us ….. then we equip ourselves to face any challenge and open our spiritual awareness.

Universal Life Energy is the Eternal at our fingertips, to easily contact consciously. And the more we utilize IT, our progress becomes more evident.

The world says ‘don’t discriminate,’ your Inner Courage says, ‘always discriminate’

Discrimination reflects both the human mind and the human spirit! The human mind usually views discrimination according to the current social mania. Currently the general concept of discrimination is based in fear and hatred. It feeds more of the same energies in society, causing protests, self-righteous stubbornness, anger and hatred.

Yet, the foremost objective of discrimination that comes into evidence is the development of love within us.

Polarized discrimination

There is division in the human mind. It sees right and wrong, yes and no, duality. It divides us from Harmony and our own Soul! And it divides us from each other, thus mental and emotional judgments against groups, etc.

Yet, the human spirit also discriminates ….. with distinction. Our Spirit, our own Real Self, always discriminates with distinction to manifest all our wonderful, soulful qualities ….. of Enthusiasm, Wisdom, Truth and Love.

The greater objective of discrimination is ……

To elevate the human mind to be conscious of our Unity ….. with Spirit ….. with Harmony. To be conscious of – All Life, Intelligence, Law and Love ….. And to Manifest ….. to Be …… in the ever present moment these qualities …… with every thought, every attitude, and every act of ours.

Discrimination with fear and hatred imprisons these qualities. But we will eventually seek relief from the pain of such a mistake. Yet, we need not suffer ….. it’s up to us to beneficially discriminate.

To enhance beneficial discrimination …..

  • Be Courageous and Observe yourself in a detached mental awareness ….. the good, the bad, and the ugly. Courage can empower You ….. to observe without getting involved in the emotions.
  • Choose to release fearful, egotistic thoughts and behaviors, keeping in mind that there are no secrets.

Consider using the practice of eliminating fearful thoughts, temptations and emotions outlined in the link just below whenever you feel negative energy rise within you.

Reaching Soul Vibrations – Lesson 23

  • Courageously accepting responsibility for yourself, for your own path in life, is Willingness that empowers You to transcend reason and embrace Love. It adds to your Strength and can help attract you to ….. Forgiveness, Understanding, and Love ….. opening you to higher levels of consciousness!

A finite moment leads to the Infinite… a paradox

By being in the moment and accepting the moment experience as it is in the present…..then we expand into the infinite Now. It seems a paradox.

Try an experiment. Focus on one thing, one moment at a time and consciously create happiness by thinking, intending, feeling those things you truly want.

For me it may be to be strong in health when I’m feeling weak. It may be feeling open and accepting when tempted to feel angry or impatient. I experience it and can release it, knowing it isn’t the Real Self and doesn’t benefit anyone. Then I can embrace uplifting feelings.

It may be feeling Loving towards all. To feel the warmth and tenderness in the heart that radiates to others and to the world. And this is being a conscious channel of Source. You expand from that emotion physically and mentally. Plus, you attract the same thing as you create in the moment with your thoughts, intentions and emotions.

The longer you hold your focus on uplifting emotions and realizations you expand into Infinite Consciousness. And by observing yourself in this state, you are creating a more stable awareness of your Inner Being.

Try the finite section experiment (taking things one at a time/bit by bit) and experience for yourself the freedom it brings … or perhaps you have already?

Karma and the Law of Rhythm

Thought → Emotion → Temptation → Behavior →  

Karmic Effect becomes a cause for another cycle → Thought → …

These are the cycles, the rhythms of our lives.

We are emotional beings and our emotions power our thoughts and behaviors. One emotion can generate a thoushand thoughts. All those thoughts affect our behaviors and our reality. And with the Law of Rhythm we repeat history!

What we feel, think and how we behave, attracts like into our reality ….. in our bodies and health, our physical reality ….. family, work, society at large. and it’s cyclic because of the swing of the pendulum.

Like the waves of the ocean we ride the wave forward, then there’s an undertow drawing us backwards. When we are moving forward it is for our own benefit to take advantage of it and ride the wave forward with gusto! Enjoy it and put our full effort into whatever project we have in mind.

When we feel the undertow starting to come into play then it is an indication to slow, stand strong and refuse to be pulled backwards, mentally acknowledging that it has no power over us …… use negation. This period is beneficial because it gives you time to recharge, refocus and refine your objectives. 

It’s simple

As we educate ourselves to understand the Laws of the Universe we can make conscious choices with our best interest in mind. It’s simple really – we empower ourselves through uplifting emotions and thoughts, and responsible behaviors.

The key is to BE CONSCIOUS with LOVE motivating us. If we aim for no harm to ourselves or others it helps harmonize us all. We flow in harmony with both the Laws of Cause and Effect, Karma and Rhythm. 

We are the masters of our own fate.

Greetings Loves …..

You are in perfection of spiritual unfoldment…. and it is a beautiful process, working according to Universal Law.

As students of spiritual Wisdom, we study …. practice ….. experience the Wisdom ….. and come to know it….. then there is love in knowing, doubt-less and pride-less.

When we experience doubt….. let us view it ….. acknowledge it as a step in evolution of coming into knowing. We learn bit by bit, and it’s an adventure of mind! We are aligning Love and consciousness.

You …. we, are exactly we we are supposed to be according to Universal Law.

Surrendering pride before a fall

The stage is dank and dark
 The players desires rocket unforgiving flare
Forgetting the relevant line, 
'Pride goes before a fall.'
 They shout, 'I am holier-than-thou!'

While not even knowing 
 How things are truly going 
Concern for self-gain 
Sees the world as depriving
 Blind to hearts' courage endowing.

Willingness to let go        
 No longer the victim 
Intention envisioned
A sense of inner power becomes dictum
 Championing of causes when allowing.

Many believe that pride is a ‘good’ quality and …

Though pride may seem supportive of us initially, pride blocks our expansion and is damaging. It lacks love and blocks us from freedom, happiness and our True Self. But, we have been programmed and conditioned to falsely identify with pride, feeling obligated to defend our positions, beliefs, and possessions. Yet there are ways to rise above it and regain our peace of mind.

To release pride …

It helps to realize how it works and how it gains a foothold of self-righteousness in us. Pride is a conditioned emotion based in the past ….. most likely when we were young and naive. And we tend to envisage this conditioning of pride into our decisions and choices without being conscious of it!

Pride displays defensiveness which implies fear and doubt that the object of pride is not strong enough to stand on its own merit and is open to question. A very prideful person, religious group or social movement is locked into a position or belief by fear, making it very difficult to advance or admit a mistake!

Focus may be on what is believed to be missing, with energies of disappointment, resentment, even anger and hatred, attracting more of the same energies. Anger, fear and hatred makes the prideful person feel that they are entitled to act-out, protest, become violent and even kill or maim those that don’t agree. And this also makes them vulnerable to counter-attack!

When we love and appreciate ourselves, a social movement or religion, the opinion of others has no power over us. We no longer need to be right. We recognize our self-worth and Inner joy arises because of love and enjoyment.

We acknowledge any intrinsic problems as works in progress. And this invokes attitudes that problems can be worked out satisfactorily with the world.

So how do we let go?

Pride is a label …. nothing real ….. an illusion and tool of the subconscious ego to continue its control. It helps to remember that nothing has any meaning other than what we give to it! And it makes it easy to let go since it was an illusion to begin with.

Peace of mind naturally rises within us, because there is nothing to defend or be angry about. Each time we recognize pride and get ahead of it, it’s easier to release

Release is a process of surrender …

 We can give pride new meaning ….. and that is by viewing it as an opportunity to learn and grow ….. to surrender to Unconditional Love ….. and regain our peace of mind. We can reclaim our freedom from the burden of defensiveness, blame, arrogance, anger, vulnerability, fear and smug self-righteousness.

Attract what we want!

 Our emotions are creative energies and with practice we can achieve our goals harmoniously by picturing them lovingly and allowing them, according to Universal Law rather than by our personal will.

We can deliberately create by deliberately choosing uplifting thoughts and emotions like appreciation, gratitude, optimism, compassion and Love. And with these energies we attract through the Law of Attraction and Love the necessary conditions and opportunities for success. 

The greatest gift we can give ourselves is recognition and release of harmful attitudes like pridefulness, fear and self-righteousness ….. and surrender to Unconditional Love. This is surrender to Source, Universal Life Energy and allowing our True Self to Be.

Recognize, Release and Surrender 

One of the easiest ways to recognize pride within our own selves is to observe our thoughts when interacting with others.

As discussed in the pervious entry, we want to get to the bottom of the emotion that causes all the prideful thinking and struggle of defensiveness ….. by recognition, release and surrender.

Trying to cope? Stress is addictive! Here comes relief with RRS

So many of us are feeling stressed! …. especially during these times of covid and social unrest. Many people are doing double duties ….. parents working from home and simultaneously schooling their children! Some of us have been been laid-off but still have mortgages and bills to pay.

 We’ve become stress, if we weren’t already, but stress blocks us from our peak performance! It’s a habit of survival mode! We don’t purposely become addicted to stress, but it’s something known to us ….. familiar. We may even believe we should be stressed …. it’s our reputation on the line after all! Yet …..  stress is actually abnormal. 

And though stress has physical symptoms and even produces hormones like cortisol that can make us physically ill and fat ….. stress is a mental consciousness issue. Calm, collected and confident is our natural state, which puts us in top performance condition. And we can return to our natural state with conscious intent.

Relaxation will give limited relief of stress, but we must get to the source of stress ….. which is emotional ties like anger, fear and resentment ….. in order to rise above it.

Consider these 4 simple methods to get relief!

# 1 – The simplest thing to do when we are tempted to get stressed is to do the opposite. Breathe in the calm and loving energy of Universal Life Energy. Mind is unable to stop itself from circling in thoughts and feelings even if we tell it to “stop thinking!” We need higher help.

If you felt the pressure of stress come from someone else, like your boss, coworkers or partner, send them Light filled with loving, compassionate thoughts. And mentally negate stress by saying and aligning with something like, “Stress has no power over me. I am calm, collected and loving.”

#2 – Do something else physically:  Move ….. walk to a quiet place if possible ….. preferably in nature. Pause ….. take a deep breathe …. several. Deep breathing naturally induces relaxation ….. and calms the mind and emotions. Moving the body and coming into it mentally by breathing takes the energies from thoughts and feelings.

#3 – Contact Universal Life Energy. IT is a great gift of Our Father. It can help us surrender to Unconditional Love that is within us before we may even remember it.

#4 – Move into a higher level of consciousness with sincere intent from pride into courage ….. by mentally envisioning dropping stress ….. release stress like you would a pencil from your hand, or like a block you burn in the pure fire of Unconditional Love of Universal Life Energy. 

And to release the deeper emotional causes of stress consider the method below.

We have been unconsciously programmed …

like a computer and conditioned to stress because of our mental naivety …. perhaps for thousands of years. We’ve seen adults experience it when we were children. We’ve seen co-workers experience it. It may be programmed in our DNA and cell memories that still causes us “fight, flight, freeze” reactions. This is when contact with Universal Life Energy is invaluable because it naturally harmonizes fear, the deeper emotion. 

Even though others, our boss and co-workers can become stressed, remember …… no-one can make us stressed ….. just like no-one can make us mad….. it’s what we allow. Be conscious of  emotional contagion! The energies of stress can enter the subconsciousness to grow unconsciously making us feel uneasy most of the time!

Questions to get to the bottom of it! 

If we face it ….. the job or issue at hand itself doesn’t cause stress ….. it’s the meaning we give to it! It’s our own internal feelings about it. It’s personal! And we feel personally obligated to fulfill expectations.

The mind created this problem of stress ….. but can’t control it. We can’t control our thoughts ….. our feelings! One emotion can cause a thousand thoughts! We want to get to the bottom of the emotion that causes all the thinking ….. recognition, release and surrender ….(RRS  …  🙂

To begin recognition: Take a deep breathe, relax, go silent and make the Mental Contact. Come into the present moment and observe in a detached state ‘the thinker’ before questioning.

These questions are more of what rather than why ….. mostly because why questions are abstract and we can get blogged down in memories and associated feelings. What questions can lead back to the base emotion without entanglement!

Questions like: For what? So what? Of what? Then what? 

What does it feel like? What are the physical symptoms? Sometimes simply observing the physical symptoms or sensations and labeling it like ‘pressure around the heart’ or ‘difficult to take deep breathes’ (the one I often experienced) makes it easier to recognize! Pressure for what? For what purpose?

The primary question:  What’s the payoff?

The ego will fight tooth and nail at this point! It feeds on the belief of stress and hyped up emotions to keep it alive and kicking!

What’s the payoff for feeling stressed? …. To feel better about ourselves? …. To feel like we’re at least doing something?

Does it fill the hole of low self-esteem? What for? To compensate for insecurities, shame, guilt, fear? 

Fear of what? ….. Fear of not being good enough ….. not being fit to be loved, lovable?

Staying in self-analysis and question mode is not the objective and we could circle and get trapped there if we dilly dally ….. so consider moving to more beneficial steps!

Try this …..nothing has any meaning other than what we give to it!

It may helpful to look at A Course in Miracles which is viewed by most spiritually minded people, It has Christian connotations, but can be used by anyone! You can listen to YouTube explanations to learn what the coarse is all about.

There are 365 lessons …. one practice for each day of the year. Hence, I am sharing the first 10 lessons in the workbook, which I found to be very helpful to release arrogance and ‘know it all’ attitudes which are related to stress:  so practice thinking and realizing as per instruction several times a day!

 – Lesson 1, Day 1 – Look at any object in the room or outside and say/realize – “Nothing I see in this room (on this street, from this window, in this place) means anything.” …. page 23 of workbook.

– Lesson 2 – “I have given everything I see in this room (on this street, from this window, in this place) all the meaning that it has for me.”

– Lesson 3 – “I do not understand anything I see in the room (on this street, from this window, in this place).”

– Lesson 4 – ” These thoughts do not mean anything. They are like the things I see in the room (on this street, from this window, in this place).”

Lesson 5 – ” I am never upset for the reason I think.”

– Lesson 6 – ” I am upset because I see something that is not there.”

– Lesson 7 – “I see only the past.” (It takes at least a split second for anything we see to travel to the brain and process! Hence …. a true statement. And stress and expectations are based in the past!)

– Lesson 8 – “My mind is preoccupied with past thoughts.”

– Lesson 9 – “I see nothing as it is now.”

– Lesson 10 – “My thoughts do not mean anything.”

It may be helpful to write these down and keep a journal to record realization of release of subconscious conditioning programmed from the past.

Release and surrender

Recognition of stress and release of emotional causes are essential processing, yet the primary one is surrender ….. surrender ourselves ….. our thinking and emotions ….. our expectations …… to Unconditional Love. When we allow ourselves to recognize, release and surrender to Love …… we discover our innate courage and real security!

There is sureness and gentleness rather than hurry when we release stress because we are conscious that there is always plenty of time to do what is essential. We trust in the Great Law!

What we gain 

We can view stress, or any other emotional issue, by finding the value in it …. by giving it new meaning …. by viewing it as an opportunity to learn and grow.

The release of stress gives us the opportunity to surrender to Unconditional Love ….. and regain our peace of mind. This is a great gift ….. because we have also lightened the burden of defensiveness, resentment anger, and self-punishment. We are less vulnerable and fearful.

We are calmer, happier and more powerful.
