It hurts so good!

PSLB

It’s all happiness to know that anything that was horrific in the past is gone. It’s logical. Yeah, we tend to cling to evil in memories and perceived injustices that others must pay for.

It’s the ego that clings to the illusion that the past is still now because it serves a purpose. The past is a place to lay blame for our pain and disappointments. For our wounded self-esteem.

The ego seeks retribution for offenses. Seeks vengeance. And even though we want to place blame on someone else, it returns to us as guilt. And because of guilt, inner condemnation, the ego demands vengeance on ourselves!

Yet how could we experience guilt without our own alliance with the past and with the ego?

How do we escape this vicious cycle?

These are questions we can ask ourselves to begin to be conscious and sane, instead of circling in the past, bringing it to the present with guilt and repeated thought patterns.

In the present moment, in the Silence, we can recognize our freedom and Inner beauty. We need only make a small effort, spiritual intent to pause, take a deep breath, come to the moment mentally and be silent.

And a wave of gratitude can lift us into a higher level of consciousness and energies that brings us more freedom from the illusions of the ego. And we are happier.

This tiny step in our attitude and mental intent for Silence in the moment offers freedom. And the Great Law helps us expand and you can actually feel Universal Life Energy physically and/or mentally. You are communicating with The Universe!

In that instance is peace and love. The Truth is constantly now.

A State of Mind, Part 1

A State of Mind

“We should try to develop the love of Beauty, which is at the foundation of our being.”  Eugene Fersen

Even a novice photographer can capture the scenic beauty and power of Alaska on an iPad. And, there is more to it than meets the eye!

Alaska Reflection

Summer doesn’t last long in Alaska, but it is beautiful, green with mild weather and swollen rivers and lakes from melting snow.

The states of water can be used to symbolize the states of mind.

Clear liquid water is in a state of fluidity and active movement, representing consciousness aware in the present moment.

Mind in the present moment is clear, calm and receptive. It better reflects our True, beautiful individual character and its unlimited quality, like the open sky.

However, if our mind is muddied and rippled by negative attitudes or harmful desires it symbolizes a troubled personality and life.

If mind is fixed, stubborn, opinionated without hope of change it is like ice, frozen like hell.

Water in a gaseous state represents the Higher, True Self. Pure Mind, a perfect complement to Divine Love. Our natural state. Beautiful.

Uncompromising

Photo by cottonbro studio on Pexels.com

When we’ve done something we judge as very wrong, we tend to compromise and overlook the truth, thinking …. ‘well, it’s not so bad,’ and let it slide.

But compromise causes destructive, inner turmoil. Somehow we know within that Truth is Law and uncompromising.

When I realize I have made a mistake and am tempted to criticize myself or others placing blame and guilt. I become grateful for the wisdom to see the truth …. ‘I made a mistake.’

The courage to rise above a mistake naturally unfolds when I acknowledge responsibility for my mbehavior! And I am grateful for recognition of the mistake and the courage to rise above it.

And as my thinking becomes calm and quiet, I pause in that wonderful awareness any negative temptations are released.

So how do we avoid comprising, destructive thinking?

Express the FourSquare:

First, consider having a positive attitude. Be optimistic, hopeful. This sets us on a positive course.

Then be aware, Conscious, reasonable, considerate. Without Wisdom we cannot be successful in anything.

And be truthful. If we ignore or deny the truth of the situation, we tend to compromise or let things slide, which arouses fear, causing a divided, restless, destructive mind.

You have the courage to walk the path of Truth: with optimism, with wisdom, and with clear sincere eyes, mind becomes calm. And we get a clear indication of being on the path of Truth, feeling inner Peace…. our natural state.

Truth opens the door within us to Harmony. And we can express that calm harmony as Goodwill. We begin to move beyond the mistake and co-create harmony in our human reality.

There are no shortcuts, no comprises, with Truth to reach Harmony.

“Goodwill is the finest expression today of Love. It does not seek anything for its own use; it is generous.”

Eugene Fersen, “The Teacher,” The Public Years of the Baron Eugene Fersen – Volume I, page 87.

Todays’s consideration: ‘Constructive criticism’?

Consider that when we criticize we are judging from fear … plus the ego wants to be in control. We can be harsh. And we can be even harsher when we self criticize.

We may feel that self criticism is justified because it can help us improve ourselves. And that others are going to criticize us anyway, so why not jump the gun? We secretly feel that we are not good enough to fit in or be loved?

We all do it; we all criticize! Yet we are in a process of realizing that none of us are perfect and we all have our habits ….. we all have been programmed to adhere to established patterns of behaviors.

But….. We can pause and consider the temptation to criticize, then listen to our Inner Voice, our Higher Self, to guide us.

Criticism is directed by fear and can result in anxiety, guilt, and even self-hatred. Such temptation is just a temporary distraction from Self Love and compassion for all of us. And we can realize this.

To realize that we all are tempted to criticize, then pause and let it pass, is the beginning of having compassion for ourselves. And ….. that compassion can raise our level of consciousness to Acceptance, Understanding and unconditional Love for ourselves, for others and all Beings.

And certainly increases our happiness!

It’s Nervous Jiggers and Heart of Compassion

Photo by Fernanda Latronico on Pexels.com

We can circle in habitual patterns like nervous jiggers and not even know the reasons for  them! Yet, even from this you can come to a state of Inner Peace and happiness to create a more harmonious reality for ourself.

What are jiggers about?

Thoughts run through our mind constantly. We’re addicted to thinking! But they are fleeting; here one moment and gone another. We get the jiggers because we’re human adults and we tend to hold on to our thoughts and feel them, especially those that bother us.

Jiggers are a state of mind/emotions in which we’ve held onto fear base thoughts and feeling those thoughts as being urgent, got to “do” something. And our nervous system/brain reacts with nervous jiggers.

How to rise above jiggers?

We can pause, and take some slow deep breathes to begin to relax our bodies and our thinking. Our brain starts to release hormones for a calm state and we go from a state of urgent “doing” (experiencing jiggers of the brain/nervous system) to “being” (conscious and aware in the present moment).

From a calm state you can utilize your Power of choice!

You can choose to align with qualities that you are already are! Qualities of Willingness, Optimism and Love. Calm and peace are our natural states. So when we relax our bodies and just notice nervous, fleeting thoughts, we begin to align with our natural inner calm, gratitude, peace and compassion.

And the Mental Contact with Universal Life Energy helps with this because we are connecting with the Great Principle, God, and receive support.

Universal Energy is the Power behind mind and thinking and when we focus on That then we are focusing on Harmony and our potential for real Harmony within, not only Harmony of Mind, but also Energy, Truth and Love. Harmony of body, mind and emotions.

Here’s where compassionate heart comes in

How we relate to our thoughts determines our perception of our life. Thoughts are our experience of life because we are always thinking and feeling those thoughts! We feel our thoughts about the problems of our life rather than problems themselves.

We consider our thoughts personal rather than witnessing our thoughts and emotions uninvolved. And we can judge harshly, ourselves and others, which can pervert our view of life and circumstances.

But remember thoughts are fleeting. And we can let new thoughts rise from our Heart of Compassion and Unconditional Love, transcending those that bother us. Thoughts like gratitude for the awareness of the temptation to worry and feeling jiggery, free us. We can let fear pass by and let optimism and gratitude rise and enter our thoughts.

Disruptive feelings are giving us the opportunity to pay attention and be aware of fleeting thoughts and any reactions or responses to them, so we can get deeper understandings.

We can observe them, trace unbeneficial ones like the consequences of feeling the jiggers to the source and know they are just thoughts. They will pass. Or we can throw them in a mental trash can rather than circle in worry and fear, freeing ourselves.

And we can have a sense of humor about our confusion and the illusion of emotional black holes.

“We should fight, not to destroy disharmony, but to be on the same level with Harmony.”

Eugene Fersen,  Advanced Teachings in Science of Being, Volume I, pages 92 & 94.

Today’s consideration: The lie about lying!

We might as well face it …. lying is a sign of being afraid! There is no such thing as a little white lie meant to protect someone or something. It still comes from fear, is unbeneficial, and a mistake. It would be more beneficial to say nothing at all. Habitual lying is a form of slavery for pretense and hypocrisy.

To realize the truth about lying begins to free us from the fear that grips the ego into believing that lying is a tool to use from time to time for the good of ourselves and others. It’s not a protection from getting hurt, shame, guilt, or despair. It’s cowardly and a barrier from experiencing Trust in Life and the Universe. It’s holds us back from expressing our innate love and experiencing love from others.

Out of fear we are tempted to lie. Yet, the temptation to lie is a temporary condition ….. it will pass. We need only to pause and observe without attachment the way we are tempted to think in the moment.

When we realize this through experience, we are able to recognize traits of the ego like lying, like greed, guilt and criticism are mistakes in the making when we succumb to them. They are based in fear. We can instead choose to align with Truth, with honesty, sincerity, and accuracy.

And the potential for Understanding, compassion and love for ourselves and others rises naturally. We get closer and closer to Unconditional Love. And the Truth of our Real Self is unveiled.

And thus our Joy and Happiness increases too.

“Sometimes it takes an entire lifetime to realize a mistake. Realization is proof of our unfoldment.”

Eugene Fersen, Aphorisms of The Lightbearer, page 209.

Today’s consideration: Food, sex, worries; So many distractions

Thinking is an addictive distraction, especially when we have an intent to quiet the mind, to mediate and come into your Real Self. We tend to think about things we try to avoid or repress when we get quiet and listen to ourselves. Things like that chocolate we’re missing, the sexual pleasures we’re missing, and the many, many solutions to worries we’re missing.

It’s normal for us all. That’s important to remember when the guilt and the hurt of it all begins to further distract us. Yet, we can free yourselves with practice.

Just keep being conscious and aware of the temptation to be distracted. Just observe, be the watcher of the thinker without judgment. And amazingly, in that awareness of the temptation to be distracted, you have entered a meditation of observation. Whereas, if you we unaware of being distracted then one thought leads to another. And you can circle there.

Let compassionate Love lead you deeper into Relaxation and Silence. Pause and take some deep breathes, being conscious of breathing in Universal Life Energy. Let compassion for yourself, lead to compassion for others and for all Beings. And in this practice you can release, release and rise in consciousness above temptation into Love, Peace and Joy.

“We should try to eliminate the undesirable traits of our subconsciousness by becoming conscious through living FourSquare. It is a stupendous task for the whole of Humanity.”

Eugene Fersen, Aphorisms of The Lightbearer, page 31.

Today’s consideration: Are you Home yet?

Our spiritual journey is our journey Home.

In a high state of consciousness we come Home to our natural condition ….. our Spiritual Home, conscious of compassionate, unconditional, Joyous Love. We know we are deeply Loved and deeply Loving. We are one with All Power, Awareness, Sincerity and Universal Love. Human love has evolved to Spiritual Love and radiates from our Spiritual Heart.

What is essential on our journey Home? Awareness and Love. Light and Love.

Consider starting with a sincere intent to be aware of Self and self ….. aware of the Truth of Self and our Inner Compassion, Love and Joy which also opens us to be aware of self …. of the ego and its stress circuits.

When you do become aware of feeling down on yourself or someone else, consider just the opposite. The subconscious perverts our thinking.

And when we are willing to rise above the ego, a stressed out separate person, we begin to realize that we are part of something bigger and Harmonious. That Light within us is attracted to and part of the Light of All Harmony. And this is Home.

Delirium while seeking Inner Peace

Photo PSLB

We all suffer, and for those of us on a conscious spiritual journey we may suffer emotionally more than anything. As we travel along gaining more and more experiences, there is the process of learning from our mistakes. And this can cause the greatest emotional suffering, yet it is part of the human growth process. The good news is that we can rise above it.

There are egotistic challenges …

Like guilt, self-righteousness, pride and frustration. Impatience is one that I repeat and I suffer emotionally from with guilt, resentment and even self hatred. Sometimes it seems to be an endless dark, painful tunnel of different negative traits! Yet there is Light of hope and inspiration to continue to fight for Freedom.

One thing egotistic challenges teach us is to be more conscious, alert and aware of temptations that surface. And that they should be faced, rather than pushed down again only to resurface stronger than ever. Better to face and release now than let them fester and grow.

And if we ignore feelings and dealing with trauma and traits that may have initially happened in childhood, we cause ourselves more trauma unknowingly. In childhood if we didn’t have help with trauma, we probably suppressed our emotions, which grew unnoticed. We were naive.

So when we become stressed in our daily life; feeling bothersome feelings like anxiety we may try to soothe or numb ourselves by looking for comfort in overindulgence in unhelpful matters, like over eating, porn, drugs.

Better to face negative emotions and past memories of trauma, rather than continuing to be naive, so we can come to the present moment fully. And feel the uncomfortable emotions and consciously choose to let them go ….. then embrace those emotions that are uplifting. It’s our choice, after all!

The fight for Freedom

Some may encourage us to be humble and forgiving to overcome negative traits, Yet, humility haves connotations and definitions of lowliness and unworthiness. Forgiveness has connotations and definitions of indulging in excuses for wrong doing, or ignoring negativity.

I’ve found that being accepting and compassionate are fitting and accurate. When we can accept our and others egotistic fallibilities as being human we can give up, that is release, the obsession with “being right!”

Self-honesty requires courage. And courage lifts us consciously; it helps us recognize negative patterns of resentment and condemnation without getting all involved and stuck, then feeling guilty about it.

We can be compassionate, see our human fallibility and be willing to do something about it, by releasing it, letting it pass us by. This is being lead by Unconditional Love.

We may initially feel the pain of an egotistic trait or traumatic memory. In fact the pain points to what needs awareness and healing. Sure, self defensiveness may creep up too!

Yet, those egotistic constricts are released when we let them pass us by. And we are able to rise above the pain into understanding, optimism and gratitude.

I become so grateful for becoming aware of different painful emotions …. temptations that where under the surface and have been around a long, long time stemming from childhood trauma.

We can face dark memories and emotions stemming from trauma and be protected. You have the help, and we all do, of The Great Law through Higher Consciousness, with Universal Life Energy as the constant inspiring Source of Power and Unconditional Love. Such Love is our True protection. We merely have to be compassionate and willing to make the Mental Contact with Universal Life Energy.

Rise above

It seems obvious that with more self-honesty and release of negative temptations we become less vulnerable to self condemnation and creating more trauma of fearful traits of feeling like a victim, self-hatred and escape-ism.

With acceptance, compassion and release we rise above the emotional pain. And with gracious and compassionate attitudes like alert awareness and optimistic gratitude, we can rise in consciousness.

We can align with our natural state of happiness, Joy, Love and Harmony. Yet, we must be brave!

The Primary thing that frees us

Photo: PSLB

It has been said that:

We often gladly indulge in things that we least understand.

And that is very true because there are many, many things I can think of just off the top of my head. But the most apparent seems to be endless checking our phones! Then there’s checking the frig and pantry too ….. trying to please certain people ….. and here’s one of my favorites …. automatically answering a question directed at you.

We do things mindlessly, almost automatically. And some of them can bind us, keeping us in loops of habit, occupying our life. Yet, there is an avenue of freedom ….. if you’re willing.

The ego becomes the boss of us

We usually don’t understand why we are urged to check our phones ….. but we think we do. It’s to check the time, which we forget to do, we check messages ….. and the list goes on. Some of us are in dire straits of situations that demand our compliance. And we do it.

The ego becomes the boss of us with traits of fear, longing to be loved, trying to fit in, belonging, being good enough, desiring and being prideful.

So what’s the first step to freedom?

It seems obvious ….. to be aware. To be conscious and alert to the way the mind works in the situation.

Being willing to observe our thoughts and feelings without acting upon them. Being willing to live in the moment fully, observing and letting it wash over us in terms of awareness without judgment. There’s no room for judgment. Things are just the way they are.

And here’s the primary thing that is usually left out …..

The thing that we usually are unconscious of and un-alert to in our thinking and possible response to situations …… the complimentary or the polar to mental awareness ….. and that is Love.

Being in the moment alert and aware, being the non-involved observer can free us to a limited extent. We become free to be independent thinkers ….. independent of habits and fearful emotions. We become courageous in seeing the situation in the light of truth and develop an inner sense of hope to rise above any negativity within us ……. that demands to be obeyed and indulged in.

The human mind will focus on being alert and conscious, yet the essence of our consciousness, which we are to awaken to, is Love.

The human mind is unbalanced without being conscious of Love. The ego dominates us with traits of shame, guilt, grief, fear, desire, anger and pride. Yet when we are willing to go inward during observation and be centered in our Spiritual Heart and Love, then we are protected from the goings on of the ego.

We become conscious of our independent thinking and freedom to choose. And we can choose to stay in loops of compliance or choose the freedom of acceptance, reason, goodwill, and love. We can choose Peace.

Just because we may see the ego working within ourselves or others, doesn’t mean we have to react to it. It just means we have a responsibility to look within to the deepest part of us ….. to Love within and to choose Love for our own sanity and for others.

Mind and Love are the same qualities of the soul. It is the human mind that separates. It is the subconscious ego that indulges in things it least understands.

How do you identify yourself?

When we are young, we may identify with who we are …. with body and mind ….. our name, sex, age, what we do, our job, our tribe, etc…. As we grow, we may identify with what we think, our beliefs, and affiliations.

And as we mature and become conscious of mind’s naivety, from working on ourselves, then we become stronger, wiser, more sincere and more loving. We evolve into our authentic self ….. into what we are becoming …… becoming our true nature ….. strong, wise, sincere, loving ….. Becoming FourSquare …. to Being. Becoming One with the Great All and Being.

Our work starts on the mental level ……

Being willing to be alert and conscious of the subconscious in order to lease it. The ego is not the enemy, rather it serves us. We learn to be alert and conscious from all the challenges we face.

Though the ego will do its best to maintain its unconscious influence and sway over us, consciousness is the director and we can choose our experiences.

We can choose to pause and be conscious before grabbing our phone mindlessly. We can choose to be caring and pleasant rather than pleasing, We can choose to be conscious of questions directed to us and consider how to answer, perhaps with a question. We can choose to let Love lead us.

Let us remember that the essence of Mind and our right of choice…… is Love. You are a reflection of Love. Your essence is Love. A love that is impersonal, all inclusive, uniting.

In the hope You find Love close at hand, PortiaSLB
