Use Your Nightmares to Realize Your Happiness, The Power of Emotions to Change Your Life Part 9

nightmare visions

It’s the worst kind of nightmare, jotting wide awake, with heart pounding, scared near to death and out of breath nightmare. The one that causes you to carry around this terrible dread all day long after. That’s the nightmare, or any bad dream, that can help you realize your happiness!

Why Nightmares?

The base of a nightmare is subconscious fear surfacing to consciousness. It’s bringing something to our attention, some issue that needs to be addressed. Or reoccurring dreams may be about something we are anticipating or have to make a decision about. Nevertheless, they are about issues to address.

Post-traumatic nightmares that are repeated may be the subconscious recycling in the trauma and we are being re-traumatized, even though the event is unlikely to reoccur. Through nightmares we are becoming conscious of fears that’s been stuck in the subconscious, circling causing us to suffer emotionally and even physically since emotions are such a powerful force in our reality. The consciousness is giving us an opportunity to realize self-autonomy and self-determination, rather than being a slave to the ego.

Types of Dreams?

I’ve had what felt like post-traumatic dreams from a past-life experience; a remembrance of that reality. The dream gave me insights to questions I’d had about a situation and relationship. It doesn’t matter if the dream was truly a remembrance of a past-life or not, and it is not something that I know happened. Yet it was beneficial in that it gave me some insight about my attitude stuck in the subconscious concerning  another person, and from that insight came compassion for us both and our relationship was harmonized.

There are many types of dreams and nightmares, which occur for many different reasons. There may be medical reasons for night terrors, such as illnesses or medications or there may be deep psychological reasons, for which we should consult medical professionals. Yet for most of us, our nightmares are pointing out issues to address. Of course, those issues may come through symbolism, in which case dream interpretation can become a means of self-analysis.

Analyzing your dreams

There are many dream interpretation websites and books available to help those that are not familiar with symbolism in dreams. The two references I use are: In Your Dreams, The Ultimate Dream Dictionary by Mary Summer Rain and Dreams, Your Magic Mirror with Interpretations by Edgar Cayce by Elsie Sechrist.

Yet, the information on the websites and in books is only a guideline for possible interpretation of your dreams. Everyone is different. A nightmare with a snake may symbolize an attack or retaliation to you, while it may symbolize wisdom to someone else, and temptation to another.

Over time you will come to know how to piece together the key elements in your dreams and their representation. Consider keeping a dream journal near your bedside to write down your dreams as soon as you awaken, since the subconscious also likes to forget. We start thinking about our day and our dreams fade away.

What to do about a Nightmare

If you can use your dream to solve an issue with conflict thinking within yourself then all the better for you to make a decision and draw to yourself what you need to enact it by your positive energy, thoughts, emotions and behaviors.

For those nightmares in which there is no logical resolve then visualization can help bring you into positive emotions. In a silent and reflective state visualize a positive and empowering outcome of the dream. You are putting positive energy back into the subconscious with your thoughts and emotions to change your attitude, empowering yourself to create a happier reality.

Another practice to consider that I do is just before you fall asleep is to make positive I am Declarations of Truth. This sets the tone and frequency of our thinking before going unconscious. Sleeping is beneficial for us in this stage of our evolution because the body uses it to regenerate since it is in a relaxed state, releasing stress.

Think of Air as Power. Breathe deep and take the Star position in bed, consciously contacting Universal Life Energy. Universal Life Energy is the first physical manifestation of the Eternal, connecting you with All Power, All Intelligence, All Truth, All Love and All Harmony. Consider an I am Declaration of Truth. The one below is taught in Science of Being:

Father, thou art inspiring me on the Spiritual plane. Guiding me on the Mental plane. Sustaining and protecting me on the Physical plane. I am an individualized projection into thy own Eternal substance. Proceeding from and indissolubly connected with thee, manifesting all the same qualities and powers. Thank You.

Living in the moment

Sometimes we do things we are not proud of, and it troubles us, which can go into our subconscious to grow and cause us to have nightmares or effects our behaviors without knowing why we act the way we do. Or we experience something that troubles us. And, it could have happened long ago, even when we were a child. Your consciousness can retrieve the images from nightmares and dreams and use it to release negative energy.

We can choose to be happy rather than carry around fear, through the methods described above and those in other entries (specifically as described in the series Releasing False Beliefs about Yourself and Gaining Control over Negative Emotions).

The best thing we can do for ourselves is to live  in the moment being lead by unconditional Love, releasing egotistic temptations.

Listening as instrument for egolessness: Listening, Part 4

tropical beauty refined

We’ve grown to the point of consciousness enough to know that so much of the time we are dominated by the ego – by the negative traits of the ego that causes us to suffer. Now we have this deep desire to grow and consciously create our happiness with good causes. Yet, we feel we still need help to understand why we continue to experience troubles and fall once again into negative emotions.

Why listen to wisdom teachings

Reading wisdom books, listening to the teachers, listening to a master has the purpose to remind us of what we already know. We’ve just forgotten. We are reminded to listen and be more conscious of our Higher Self and our own inner guidance.

We have become so out of touch that we feel that we must seek spiritual ‘authorities’ to help us. The truth is we don’t need wisdom teachings to connect with our True Self because it is something we already are. No authority or clergy is needed in-between you and your Higher Self. Unfortunately, we are conditioned to believe that is true.

The teachings, teachers, or clergy are not to be believed, blindly followed or even assumed as true. In fact beliefs can instead energize the ego to keep us enslaved and frozen in a fixed idea. Rather we are to work to experience Truth for ourselves; to know the Truth.

I am grateful for wisdom teachings and teachers because they can and do lead the way, yet we are the only one that can remember and reconnect with our Inner Self. And, the more we do so repeatedly the more we become conscious of I am.

We may not understand the teachings the first time we’ve heard or read it. Yet, there may be a time in listening that it awakens us to our Higher Self and we do understand. I’ve had some of my wisdom books, Science of Being, for over 35 years and I always am inspired when I read passages from it again. That is why there is power in reading and listening!

We get caught up and lost in our human life. Truth is Law, ubiquitous and eternal. And, Truth in spiritual teachings will strike a chord, which may feel like a deep desire to return home. Or it may be like a bell going off in our head or heart, and it rings true to us. Listen. It is your Higher Self and soul. Ringing Truth to awaken us. This has happened to me and it may have to You also.

Truth opens us to unconditional Love. And, as we do we are also able to release negative thoughts and emotions. And, we begin to create a positive reality with positive energy.

Wisdom Tools

Wisdom teachings remind us to be conscious, mindful, respectful, grateful and loving.

Listening to our Higher Self and wisdom teachings, reflection, mindfulness, Silence and meditation. These are your, our, Wisdom Tools! Then we must Act harmoniously within Universal Laws. And, be lead by unconditional Love. We are letting the ego die. Creating a egoless life. A spiritually driven life.

Complain, Complain, Complain – taking it personal

We can be complainers. It’s a pattern with most of us. We see someone’s faults and we complain about them when it affects us. Unbeknownst to us however, when we complain about others faults we are aligning with the same energy we are complaining about! Complaining about them weakens us.

rain3 animated

Why Complain

We complain about the weather, the traffic, the government, and awful people. We’ve taken it personal!

Complaining says that we’re frustrated and feel like we’re inadequate to deal with it. Feeling powerless, we want to blame our aggravation on conditions or others and feel like a victim. We propagate reasons to  procrastinate and avoid responsibility even if we could do something.

We’re miserable and miserable to be around.

The Effects

Complaining keeps us dwelling on the negative, reinforcing it – attracting the very thing we are complaining about!

Most of us are unconscious of how much we complain because we can make such a habit of it. We may think we are just repeating what everyone else thinks or said, that we’re just venting, or maybe we feel like it is right to complain – like it’s an observation and we’re right!

But, like any thought, emotion or behavior, complaining is a real creative manifestation. And, therefore we are creating negative energy in our own reality! Plus, we attract more negative energy to us through the Law of Attraction. We create a less rewarding life, a less satisfying and happy one. And, eventually even our health can be adversely effected.

The emotional energy behind the complaint is also contagious! That low-frequency energy can spread first to those close to us like our family and friends trapping them too, making them feel frustrated and even powerless. They start to complain like we do. Or, our habitual complaining can push others away, affecting our relationships and our job.

Breaking the Habit

Fortunately, we can break the complaining habit!

1. Be Conscious/Mindful

First of all, we have to be conscious of complaining, have a positive intent to recognize that we are tempted to complain, or that we have complained! Be ‘the watcher of the thinker’ and observe unattached, without harsh judgement and taking things personal.

2. Take Responsibility

Being conscious in that moment is when we are becoming aware of our authentic power as a soul. We are consciously taking responsibility for ourselves.

I ask myself a simple question that I have shared before to help me recognize my true motivation: Am I coming from a place of fear or love?

3. Let it Go

When we recognize the temptation to complain or even that we have complained, then we still have the opportunity to let that thought go – to mentally step back from it. The ego may also want us to feel guilty or even hate our self, but is an illusion, because it too is only a temporary temptation and not from our true Self.

4. Choose a Positive Motivation/Emotion

In that moment of temptation to complain we can see it as an opportunity to choose an attitude coming from love instead of fear. Our attitude is emotional power and fearful ones of complaining hold us in that energy, making us feel even more unhappy and despondent.

Calm consideration lightens our load. Kindness does. Gentleness does. Appreciation does. Respect does. Seeing the good in others helps us! We free ourselves to search for solutions.

Sometimes we really don’t have any control over things, like the weather. Then we can change our focus to gratitude! Gratitude is an emotion that opens us to abundance and creates more reasons to be grateful!

 Reality Transformation

We are far more familiar with the ego than the tenderness of our heart and inner love. Yet, when we are conscious of ourselves, our inner love, we can also be conscious of the temptation to complain without being negativity influenced by it. And, we don’t take complaints personally, or let it hurt our ego because we are centered in love.

Consider being conscious of any temptation to complain and use the steps described above for the next 3 weeks and you will have established a new brain pattern that changes your reality!

We can change our mind, our attitude and our reality!

Emotional Seduction! The Power of Emotion to Change Your Life, Part 6

Emotional Seduction!

A smile is contagious! But, so are frowns, jeers and anger. We tend to mimic each others emotional expressions and synchronize to the emotional vibration too. If you are unconscious of emotional contagion your attitude can be greatly influenced by others, affecting your behavior.

Complain2

Synchronization
Of course, everyone reacts differently to negative or positive emotions when coming in contact with the emotions of others, but synchronization can happen unconsciously as the frequency of the emotional energy in your aura changes to the same or similar to those around you, particularly if you want to be considered part of the group.

Friends and families will synchronize emotionally as their aura’s blend and reflect the same or similar energy frequency. Our emotions attract similar emotions and traits from each other through the Law of Attraction. We physically boost that synchronization unconsciously by mimicking facial expressions and body language.

But, there are times that we make a cognitive effort to feel the same emotions as those around us like when we are at social gatherings, football games, parties, etc. We consciously mimic facial expressions, body language and tone of voice.

This is also very apparent in the workplace were you may find yourself feeling obligated to display the group emotion or attitude. Your boss and managers usually set the emotional tone since they are more emotionally contagious because of their authority.

You’ve most likely experienced this at motivational pep talks or work functions.

Emotional Contagion

FreeDigitalPhotos.net, Ambro

Emotional Reflection
We’ve been predominately conditioned unconsciously to emotionally synchronize from a young age. A classic example is when we smile back at someone that smiles at us, even if they are faking it. But, we can usually tell if they are faking it and are put off by it.

The great thing is that if someone genuinely smiles at us, we can not only see the difference we can feel it emotionally, lifting our spirits. We’ll most likely genuinely smile back, projecting that same loving energy from within ourselves. The love in a genuine smile draws love from within us through the Law of Attraction, while the hatred in a jeer can draw out fear from within us.

Emotions are Contagious!
Though we are strongly influenced by facial expressions and body language or by what others say, we are more seduced by the frequency of their mood – the emotional energy that radiates out and in their aura. The emotions charge thoughts with energy and they manifest physically in our facial expressions, body language and behaviors. So everything is connected and have real effects if we are conscious of them or not. The key point is to be conscious!

Emotional contagion works both ways – our emotions can influence the behaviors of others, so being conscious of our own emotions is just as important as being conscious of the emotions of others.

More to come on the subject…

In upcoming entries on emotions we will discuss ways to protect yourself from negative emotional contagion and to even benefit from positive contagion, with the help of the Great Law. Until then consider this quote to reflect upon:

“People who are inconsiderate, resent any consideration. If they remain long enough among considerate people, they will adjust themselves and become considerate.”

The Hots of Our Reality!

IMG_0409-0

Our ego wants to find love, but can go about it in wrong or harmful ways. It doesn’t really want to know why it’s that way.

Our appetites, our habits, our impulses and libido shape the way we are. They are our desires, and our desires and motivations shape our reality.

We are all looking for Love because mentally we are not conscious of True Love. But, we unconsciously look for love through desires of the ego. The ego can urge us to look for satisfaction or escape through excessive sex, food, recreational drugs and attention. The subconscious ego feels it is lacking which is based in fear. There is no Trust in Universal Love or Universal Abundance.

We can get comfortable with the urges and impulses of the ego and become addicted to over eating, alcohol, sex, infidelity and porn. Food is to sustain our body, an aspect of love and sex is a divine means of helping us realize Love. But, the ego uses urges and impulses to fulfill itself which can end up harming us.

Our great asset is consciousness or awareness. When we are conscious of our desires and motivations we can exercise our authentic power, the power of our soul and individuality. We can use our will to be motivated by love rather than fear.

When we are conscious of Love and motivated by it, then we shape our reality in it. Our thoughts, emotions and behaviors change and thus our reality changes. We live in the flow of life earnestly with enthusiasm, wisdom and caring. We are conscious of goodwill and act with kindness from the tenderness of our heart.

This changes the way we see the world and live our life. It changes our reality because our reality is shaped by the way we are.

In the hope You find Love close at hand, Portia SLB

“We think inharmoniously, and those thoughts of ours –unaware in most cases as we are that they will some day be visited upon us –act most destructively on us. The same is true of our negative emotions, such as hatred, jealousy, revenge, etc. Even if we feel these emotions toward other individuals, ultimately we are the ones who will be most harmed by indulging them, because of the law of Retribution.”

Eugene Fersen, Science of Being

They Test our Patience!

what 6

We’ve all been there. Some people just have a knack for pissing us off! There will be occasions at work, at home, or while we are standing somewhere, when someone triggers an uneasy feeling in us. It can get our dander up!

Until we consciously address fearful emotions they will continue to plague us making us anxious or hard. They become habitual, part of our personality and disposition.

And, we can lose a sense of our True Self.

So What Can We Do?
It’s a matter of mental regulation – recognizing that every unpleasant emotion is a spiritual opportunity and synchronicity, where nothing happens by chance. It’s an opportunity we have set up for ourselves to release the burdens of the subconscious ego and align with our True Self and Love.

Most of us are unaware that the real source of our uneasiness is from fear that is rooted in the subconscious. It can grow there unnoticed only to resurface sooner or later as contentious emotions like anger, apprehension, worry, and hatred causing us bigger problems, even physical illness.

How to Start
When you start to feel some uneasiness, be fully conscious in the moment. Pause your thinking, take a deep breath, relax and quiet the mental chatter; be still. Consider making the Mental Contact with Universal Life Energy (Cosmic Energy, chi, prana, Life Force) to help you relax and refocus.

Be the ‘watcher of the thinker’ from a higher consciousness. Impersonally observe your body language, facial expressions, thoughts and attitude, drawing them into you and feeling them fully without harsh judgment.

Be courageous and very sincere in your examination. Sincerity opens our heart and mind to the inspiration of our Higher Self.

Keep in mind that people who challenge us emotionally are also on a spiritual journey, seeking ways to release the burden of the subconscious. Think of them as facilitators of spiritual synchronicity.

A Deeper Understanding
The reasoning, conscious mind can go only so far in understanding. That’s when we reach for inspiration from our Higher Self by asking questions of ourselves. Questions like:

  • Why am I feeling impatient?
  • Why is it so important to me that I am attached to it?
  • Am I coming from a place of fear or love in my heart?

If we recognize we are tempted by fear, we can let it pass us by, release it and choose another path – Love.

We will still move in our thinking and emotions, therefore, we can further abet release of the temptation by:

  1. Opening ourselves to a positive emotion like gratitude. A positive emotion negates a negative one.
  2. Manifesting a positive emotion physically in our behavior with a smile, a kind word or stillness.
  3. Changing our body language which can help us move into a positive emotion. Moving can disperse hormonal chemicals like adrenaline. It can take up to 90 seconds ——— to disperse negative energy.
  4. Make a sincere effort to see the Divine. When we see the Divine in another we are also invoking the power to see the Divine within ourselves!

A thought of Love and connection to Harmony destroys negative thoughts within us and we will feel a relief. This frees us from fixed ideas about attack, retaliation, correction and other fearful defenses.

When we choose Love we are transforming our thought process in our everyday life from fear to Love, thereby, breaking addictive, fearful patterns.

You help all of Us

helps the rest of us

See No Evil

The Law of Polarity is what we humanly conceive of as opposites, light and dark, yes and no, yet that is coming from the perspective of the subconscious ego. The ego likes to think we cannot see Light without darkness. Polarity is a Universal Law of blending, synchronization and Harmonization. We can help harmonize our thinking by mentally negating it and saying to ourselves, “opposites is the way the subconscious thinks. I don’t accept that. It is a harmonious law.”

Fear of Terrorists, Part 1

Some may say that terrorism is so prevalent today because of conflicts between people, their rights, their freedom, and their land which started long ago. It’s said that the conflict between religious beliefs and the struggle for dominance are causing extremism, and it is but it also goes deeper than that.

Terrorists and fear of terrorism exist because we believe we have lost something vital.

image

WHAT DID WE LOSE?
We feel disconnected and separate from each other, and more importantly separate from God, Allah, Yahweh, Jehovah, Brahma, or a thousand other names humanity uses for the Great Causeless Cause. Though we may not be conscious of it – we believe that we have lost the support of the Eternal.

That is the fall of mind; our thinking that doubts its natural state of Peace, Purpose and Eternal Love. The mind that created subconscious fear, hatred and beliefs that are founded on doubt and assumptions. We have mentally fallen asleep to our True Self, our connection to and faith in the Eternal.

WHAT DOES LOVE HAVE TO DO WITH IT?
Our mental fall is why religious beliefs came into existence and through beliefs, extremism.

Fearful ego traits and terrorism were created by us, humanity, because we feel we are not part of and one with Universal Mind and Universal Love. We separate, divide, and feel finite rather than infinite.

We fight each other because we are inwardly fighting for our own freedom from fear, ignorance, pride and impatience. We seek Love, but do not know how to reach it through the pain and conflict we created in trying to empower ourselves.

BELIEFS ARE A PROBLEM
Terrorists live in a subconscious mental hell because they are blinded by unreasonable beliefs, dominated by accumulated evil and enslaved by fear.

They use religion as a means to incite hatred and to cover-up their own fear! It is a mental unbalance, an insanity. They are trying to empower their self as they unconsciously seek love while they forget love.

Being stunned into unconsciousness by fear and a buildup of hatred, there is little room in the ego for conscious reasoning and logic, much less awareness for their True Mind, which is naturally loving.

Through beliefs their suffering is associated with the ideas of the self-righteousness. And, when one lives in the past or dwells on the desires of the future there is no mental recognition of the present and it can not be appreciated.

WHAT CAN WE DO?
We should not tolerate terrorism, rather we should rise above it. Live in the moment appreciating life.

Though we may experience fear at times, we also have within us the spark of Universal Love. Let us be mindful of It, act and radiate love the best we can to help all of us rather than feed fear.

The feeling of love changes things for us – you know what it feels like and how it changes your outlook when you experience any form of human love.

You can start first by being grateful for any love in your life, then be caring, considerate, loving, and spread goodwill to those around you. It will help free yourself of fear and others also!

Consider Radiating Loving Energy to the world with this practice.

What Not to Do, Part 2

It Seems Justified!

As children we were expressly taught by our guardians what not to do for our own good. However, as adults most of us have fallen into some very detrimental behaviors that we learned unconsciously through observation and conditioning. Having unconsciously fallen into these patterns, we have to work at breaking their control over us by first becoming conscious of them.

First, be conscious!
First, be conscious!
(FreeDigitalPhotos.net, David Castillo Dominici)

We’ve Seen Others Do It….
And now we do it too!

1 – Like in the last post – we see people try to change someone else – that is definitely a what not to do because it can’t be done anyway.

Each of us are a powerhouse underneath this part of us we call personality, mind and body. We have to agree to change within our self first. The better route for everyone is to work on our own improvement and assist others that seek it.

2, 3, 4 – We definitely should not spend our time and effort thinking about what is beyond our immediate control, such as wasting time with regret over past mistakes or missed opportunities, or even worrying about the unknown future.

Let it go, otherwise you can get stuck in regret, guilt, and worry until it gets so bad it can make you mentally and physically sick. Instead, practice gratitude in the present and enjoy it as much as you can.

5+ – We repeatedly engage in negative things such as expressing impatience, being in a hurry, procrastinating and lazing around. Some more harmful ones are: lying, falling in a depression, losing our temper, negatively criticizing our self and others, and, fear of making a mistake.

These are all very habitual and self-centered, subconscious behaviors. When you are in it at the time they seem justified because of egotistic self-righteousness. Self-righteousness is one of the worst what not to do’s we experience!

image

FreeDigitalPhotos.net, Stuart Miles

Definitely What To Do!

We experience pain because the harmful energy of mindlessness we generate comes back and hits us like a ton of bricks. That is the power of Universal Mind and Love physically manifesting, but perverted by fearful thinking and powered by fearful emotions.

It takes courage to face the truth of egotistic behavior, yet you have all the power you need to rise above it. Consider being mindful, consciously aware of your thinking and motivation in order to release those harmful traits and emotions.

With a feeling of love rather than fear motivating you, you can live harmoniously in the Law of Cause and Effect with wondrous consequences!

In Light and With Love, Portia SLB

We will conclude this series with more What Not to Do in our next post, including ways to whole heartedly embrace what to do! Until next time consider this quote to reflect upon:

“To be Spiritual means to do the right thing, without thinking of being Spiritual. As our understanding grows, our sense of right grows also.”

Eugene Fersen, Aphorisms of The Lightbearer, page 1.
